New Home Development Coming To Harrisburg
A brand new housing development is coming to the town of Harrisburg. Taylor Morrison Home Corp. is building its second community in the Charlotte suburb, a 114-homesite subdivision called Holcomb Woods.
This past August, Taylor Morrison completed Blume, its first community in Harrisburg.
"With the success we enjoyed at Blume, we're very pleased to start construction on Holcomb Woods and provide another option for homebuyers of all ages in the Harrisburg market," said Kevin Granelli, Charlotte division president for Taylor Morrison, in a recent Charlotte Business Journal report.
According to Ken Elkins, senior staff writer at the Charlotte Business Journal, the development should have its first model homes open to the public in spring 2018.
About the Community
At Holcomb Woods, Taylor Morrison is offering three- to six-bedroom homes that start in the mid-$300,000s. These homes will range in size from 2,925 square feet to 4,288 square feet. The development will boast several amenities, including a community pool and recreational fields. Located at the Plaza Road Extension near Rocky River Road in Cabarrus County, Holcomb Woods is convenient to Uptown Charlotte, NoDa, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord Mills, UNC Charlotte and of course Downtown Harrisburg.
Harrisburg is a small town and suburb of Charlotte, located approximately 19 miles northeast of Uptown in Cabarrus County. The Town of Harrisburg was home to 15,387 people in 2015. Ten years prior, the town's population was less than 8,000. During the time period between 2005 and 2015, the Town of Harrisburg saw a 92% increase in its population, making it one of the fastest growing communities in the region.
According to the Town's official website, the median home value was $228,400 in 2015. This is significantly higher than the state median, which was $154,900 during the same year.
Harrisburg also received national recognition that year when it made MONEY's list of 2015's Best Places to Live. Coming in at number 41, Harrisburg was recognized for its great schools, ample opportunities for sports and recreation, and close proximity to Charlotte's booming job market.
